The Save River Campaign (SRC) is a nationwide initiative of the International Institute of River Affairs (IIRA) aimed at fostering a culture of River Stewardship through collective action, knowledge sharing, and Nadi Bhagidari©. The campaign seeks to connect citizens, academic institutions, schools and universities, government agencies, research organisations, industries, NGOs, community groups, and river-dependent stakeholders on a common platform for river conservation, restoration, and sustainable management. Through awareness, capacity building, scientific research, policy dialogue, citizen engagement, and local stewardship, SRC aims to strengthen the relationship between people and rivers and support national and global water sustainability goals.
IIRA invites organisations, especially academic institutions across the country, to join this movement and become active partners in safeguarding India's rivers for present and future generations.
Creating a nationwide movement where youth, institutions, and communities work together for healthy and sustainable rivers.
Educational institutions can voluntarily adopt river stretches for long-term cleanliness, plantation, awareness, and environmental stewardship activities.
